I was commissioned to create some patches for baseball hats. The client wanted one patch to have the state bird and flower on it, and the other patch to have a simple baseball hat. She sent me these two photos as inspiration for the design. The baseball hat patch was to have more of a rustic feel, so I drew a baseball with the ring around it for the outline of the ball kind of resembling the ring of a water glass. I then drew the stitching in the same style. The photos below show the inspiration images for the designs and well as the final designs on the hats.
