Dancing with myself
For this issue, I helped with both the layout and the did illustration of the piece. I wanted to represent a diverse group of people engaging in dance to show that dance can be a freeing activity for everyone. Originally these were the characters I drew for the article, and below how it came together for the magazine.
Covid Connections
This illustration was made at the beginning of 2020 when the initial lockdown took place. It was published as a standalone illustration in the magazine. I meant to show how even in a time of uncertainty, we can connect with each other and how technology specifically helped us do so.
Skincare
This illustration went along with an article about skincare. I illustrated each of the skincare products that were elaborated on in the article, as well as a person in the center of the illustration washing their face. The designer wanted me to include the word skincare as to not have to repeat the title on the next page, so I pulled colors from the products I illustrated to highlight the letters.
Hobbies
I was asked to create illustrations that showed off different hobbies. I chose to illustrate going to the movies, skiing, cooking/ spending time with pets, gaming, and reading. The author of the article ended up changing and the new author wanted to do a piece on comfort items instead. I worked with the designer to create the layout using a couple of the illustrations.
This illustration was about connecting through music and was shared on the Align Magazine instagram page.
